About Geco
Geco stands for Gerke Environmental International Consulting.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gilian Gerke studied waste management at the RWTH Aachen. In 2007 she completed her PhD thesis in the field of International Waste Management Systems. The focus countries were Germany, Greece and Hungary.
From December 2006 until September 2012 Prof. Gerke was working for Der Grüne Punkt GmbH (Green dot) in Cologne. As project manager she concentrated on recycling of packaging material. Quality management, sustainability and ecological monitoring as well as optimizing of recycling chains formed her working field.
Since October 2012 she holds a professorship at the department of water, environment, construction and safety at the University of Applied Science Magdeburg-Stendal. Here her focus is resource management and plastic recycling.
